Router Design

The Universal Videohub lets you build your own broadcast quality 3 Gb/s SDI and optical fiber SDI router for SD, HD, 4:4:4 and 2K video formats. Universal Videohub frames come in a choice of two sizes that let you expand your router up to either a 72 x 72 or 288 x 288 crosspoint sizes. You can hot-swap interface cards while working live without the need to power down the router.

Modular Interface Cards

Each SDI and optical fiber SDI interface card features 4 inputs and 4 outputs, plus a breakout cable port for deck control. The Universal Videohub Deck Control Cable breaks out to 4 separate RS-422 connections. The SDI and optical fiber interface cards also support 16 channels of embedded SDI audio. For maximum flexibility, interface cards are all the same size and fit both Universal Videohub 72 and Universal Videohub 288, which is great if you need to switch to a different frame size in the future.
