The Yamaha DM7-EX pairs the 120-channel DM7 digital mixing console with the CTL-DM7 expansion controller, forming a dual-bay control surface built for live sound, broadcast, theater, and corporate AV applications. The console runs at 96kHz and provides 32 analog mic/line inputs, 16 analog outputs, 144x144 redundant Dante networking, and an 18x18 USB audio interface, giving engineers flexible I/O for large-format shows without external stageboxes. Control is handled across two 12.1" and one 7" multi-touch displays, 28 motorized 100mm faders, and Yamaha's Dan Dugan automixing and Rupert Neve Designs-licensed EQ/compression modeling for channel processing. The CTL-DM7 adds a second physical control bay with dedicated faders, a jog wheel, and 48 user-assignable knobs (12 knobs x 4 banks), extending hands-on access for scene recall, DCA control, and immersive/surround panning. A single PY expansion slot supports MADI, additional AES/EBU, or MIDI/GPI cards for further I/O flexibility.
